The Hospitality Industry is one of the fastest growing
forces world-wide. In fact the American Hotel Lodging Association estimates the total number of lodging facilities at 47,500;
thats a whopping 4 million rooms to occupy!! Just think, that is in America alone. There are so many more world-wide unaccounted
for. It is no surprise to me that $514.4 billion is spent on international travel. (all statics characteristic
of 2003)
Here on this site, I am going to show you some
pictures of my favorite places I have been fortunate enough to visit on my travels. I hope you can look
at this site and get some travel ideas of your own. Even if you don't, I hope you enjoy browsing through.
The above statistics, along with other reasons, are why I hope to be involved with this industry. There
is something about travel that excites me, and the studies undoubtedly show it has the same effect on others. The feeling
you get when you behold a beautiful sight completely foreign to you is envigorating. It tends to always leave you thirsting
for more adventure.
I would like to be a hotel manager but aspire to own a hotel of my own one day. The majority of other
businesses don't have the opportunity to experience the customer's (or in this case guest's,) satisfaction first hand.
This is just one of the many attracting perks of the hospitality industry. I have had pleasurable encounter's with hotel
staff while on my travels and found it made me more comfortable while away from home. Now, I hope to pass that friendly
and inviting feeling onto others. As the saying goes, "Do unto others as you would like done unto yourself."
